Chick Hernandez, a Maryland native who grew up in Silver Spring and attended University of Maryland, fittingly was the inaugural anchor for Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic's first news show on April 4, 2001. Currently, Hernandez hosts Redskins Kickoff, Redskins Post Game Live, and is a mainstay on the network's University of Maryland and Washington Redskins beats. Before joining Comcast SportsNet in 2001, Hernandez worked for Fox SportsNet where he covered the NFC Title Game and Super Bowl XXXV.

Cowboys All the way to the Superbowl
The Dallas Cowboys are going to the superbowl. Just Like The New York Giants did last year. Don't count them out. Cause the boys are back in town.

Hot Redskins Tracks
My name is Iris Lewis from Clinton, MD. I'm emailing you to invite you check out my husband's (Bryan Lewis) tracks that he especially made for our Redskins. He is a die hard fan and I would love for him to possibly hear one his songs played on your show. Please take a listen to "I'm talkin' Redskins" and "21 Power (3rd Down)" at www.soundclick.com/wildfireblazeproductionsllc or on his myspace page www.myspace.com/wildfireblazeproductionsllc . Bryan doesn't know that I'm sending you this email so please take a listen and contact me if it could be at all possible for one of these songs to be played. I can be contacted by email or by phone (240) 676-4064. Thank you for your time and I hope you enjoy the tracks. GO SKINS!! Iris Lewis Wife of Die Hard Skins Fan:o)

HALL OF FAME, SHAME ON ME!

August 8, 2008, 1:43 am

Hi gang,  sorry I'm late. I know it's been awhile since my last entry but I have an excuse. My dog ate my computer. Just wanted to say what an incredible time I had working the Hall of Fame weekend in Canton Ohio last week.  The work was very busy, going live Thursday thru Sunday, but the moments were incredible.  Eating meals with my colleague Kelli Johnson, witnessing Art Monk & Darrell Green get their yellow HOF jackets for the first time on Friday night was phenominal.  Truth be told, I wasn't there but I saw the tape my cameraman Colvin Underwood shot the next day.  We were the only TV station there to capture the moment.

Of course the speeches on Saturday night were amazing, Darrell with his emotion and Art with the 4 minute standing O!  Loudest cheers by the way were coming from Monk's former teammates Ricky Sanders and Gary Clark.  Clark btw deserves to be in the HOF too.  Check #84s numbers against Irvin, Stallworth & Swann please.

Watch out for our new studio sets which debut Friday the 8th.  The Pre-game & postgame set is OUTSTANDING! I guess now I have to actually earn my spot on the set.  Ray Brown is gone from Redskins Kickoff since he's now coaching the line in Buffalo. (sidenote- Mr. Brown will be a guest on RKO this Saturday nite.)  Former Redskin Trevor Matich steps into the role, and he will join Brian Mitchell and myself on Redskins Postgame live.  BMitch is back for another year.  He should be going into the HOF next year too!  Who's with me on that campaign?  You realize BMitch has 261 less total yards from scrimmage than Jerry Rice, and Rice played 7 more seasons!!!

Anyway let the NFL season begin... hope you enjoy.

CHICK

B Mitch
Yes B Mitch is a HOF. I hope his outspoken nature does keep out or a long wait like A.D. in B-Ball. As native WTonian, I remember J.B. growing up in North Michigan Park back in the day. You were mentored by the best in the business. Chick keep up the good work!

underachieving
I'm frustrated with the skins. even though they are 7-5, they haven't played well for a few weeks. I wish maybe they would go to a no huddle offense occasionally to maybe get jason into a rhythm. It just seems like teams have adjusted to us and now we look predictable. If we don't start winning upfront both on the offensive line and defensive line, we'll continue to be inconsistent. This team is too talented to be playing like they have been .

Boys are back in town
Dallas Cowboys the cinderella of the NFL this year. The Superbowl slipper will fit perfectly on their feet and the rings will fit on their hands. GO' DALLAS COWBOYS.
