1. Elizabeth Seton (9-1)
Tyuanna Marshall and the Roadrunners have been playing great basketball of late.
2. Georgetown Visitation (12-1)
The Cubs only loss was by one point. Junior Nicole Krusen is deadly from three-point range.
3. Good Counsel (9-2)

Every Tuesday DCSportsFan will break down the teams that compete in the various D.C. basketball conferences. This is the very unofficial but accurate ranking of the public and private high school basketball programs of the greater Washington, D.C. area. A lot of the initial rankings will be based on record alone combined with strength of schedule, but as the season progresses, more emphasis will be placed on week-to-week performance.
1. DeMatha (9-1)
It’s no surprise that the Stags are the team to beat this year with all the talent their team possesses. Until they lose locally, this is right where DeMatha will sit in the rankings until the WCAC playoffs roll around, and that’s not to say they won’t be favored in that competition as well.
2. McNamara (9-1)
Everyone knew Talib Zanna could play ball, but now the D.C. area is quickly discovering how deep the...

In the end, however, it was Good Counsel that came out on top, defeating St. John's 72 to 59...

You always hope that the best game of any tournament in any sport comes in the championship. Of course, this is not always the case; in fact, many times fans walk away from a finals matchup disappointed that it did not live up to expectations.
It is only fitting then, after three days of such competitive games, that the championship on Tuesday afternoon...
