Terrapins Rising is produced by all around cool guy Jess Atkinson. Hey...how many guys do you know that played for Maryland and The Redskins? Okay, there are a few, but they're all cool. Jess has worked with Maryland the past seven years, producing Fridge TV and video segments for the school’s athletics website, umterps.com. ‘Fridge TV,’ the Terps’ weekly football television show, is broadcast during the regular season on Comcast SportsNet. Jess also produces Under the Shell, the weekly Maryland women’s basketball television show.
Terrapins Rising is sponsored by Under Armour. We wouldn't usually point out the sponsor, but it's important to the story because Under Armour was founded in '96 by former University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank. Bet you didn't know that, did ya? Kevin came up with the concept of "performance apparel" - gear engineered to keep athletes cool, dry and light throughout the course of a game, practice or workout.
As you can see, this show has been put together, sponsored and broadcast by a bunch of people who have quite a collection of "Fear The Turtle" paraphernalia!
